What is Grounding and how to ground yourself.
Meaning
- Grounded means to be present in your own body. In the here and now.
- Grounded is to be on planet earth. Not lost in space. Not absent minded.
- It includes being centred and balanced. Not lost in the wind like a leaf.
The most important thing for our health, emotional happiness and spiritual growth is to remain balanced. Balanced simply means to get rid of the excess and to bring in whatever is missing.
The 12 things to remain grounded are:
- You. Know and love yourself. Including your imperfections. Relax, rest, meditate and exercise. A 5 minute self audit each night to get rid of the unwanted thoughts and emotions can help to remain grounded.
- Getting rid of excessive and unwanted things.
- Not working too hard or too much. Work smart. Delegate.
- Spend quality time with family and friends.
- Be satisfied. Not overly competitive.
- Strive to be the best. But don’t attach it to your happiness. You can be balanced if you accept being second, third or even last.
- Allow your intimate partner and close friends to suggest and advice. They are priceless human mirrors who help us remain grounded.
- Work on phobias, fears and unwanted worries. Reduce or if possible, get rid of them.
- Accept and be happy with your present position in life. It is a dream of many below you to reach where you are.
- A cut off point if you are self employed. Keep the boardroom out of the bedroom.
- Over indulgence. Too many parties are not good for a grounded person.
- Imagining the worst outcome. Focussing on disease or death and such morbid thoughts.

I believe to be grounded is to feel the Earth, as the Earth.
Let go of expectations for yourself, and others.
Realize any emotion you feel, you, are feeling. No one else is obligated to do anything or not, about your feelings.
Remember there is always more to the story and treat yourself with the same compassion and understanding you hope others will.
With these traits, all the ones you listed will fall into place if not are the same anyway.
To know the ground, is to have known falling, flying, through the air.
To have known floating and ripples in the water.
To have known the scorch of burning and fire.
For without one, you can not have the other.
