Separation is the loss of an important relationship. Most of the time, separation comes quite suddenly and we are caught on the wrong foot. Emotions during a separation are usually strong and intense. Anger, fear, loneliness and sadness on one end, and the opposite emotions on the other end of the spectrum are, relief, hope and sometimes even happiness.

It is quite common to swing from positive to negative emotions. At this emotionally crucial and difficult time, it’s best to connect with a dependable family member or friend. One needs an anchor to share the roller coaster of positive and negative emotions.However, if one is able to invest time and money to seek expert help and advice, it is perhaps the best.

One should avoid sharing negative emotions with young children. Also, avoid posting nasty messages on social media.

The roller coaster of emotions and switching from happiness to sadness are difficult for the head, heart and body to deal with.

Sadness can cause:

3. Fatigue and lack of energy.
