- Limit Media: Too much exposure to Media can make us Emotionally anxious. Reduce media exposure. Definitely avoid exposure at bedtime. It is an accepted fact that media often creates an exaggerated impression of global panic.
- Receive and give Emotional comfort: Discussing covid related problems and scary statistics can be Emotionally harmful. Instead it would be advisable to exchange happy feelings through video, phone or text. Listen to and encourage family and friends. Enjoy Zoom parties, family dinners and celebrate online!
- Express kindness and compassion: Social distancing should not stop the sharing of fun, jokes and laughter. Observe people in the line-up outside box stores. They wear masks, even gloves and stand with their head down carrying emotional burdens! We need to accept that interconnectedness is possible even wearing masks. Laugh behind the mask.
- Eat Well: Old timetables are being replaced by new routines. Working from home is making some people gravitate to junk foods. This can lead to Emotional stress. Adding fresh produce, salads and fruits helps. Maintain good eating habits by eating fresh whole foods.
- Sleep well: Be mindful to give yourself 6 to 8 hours of good sleep and stick to a routine. Poor sleep can often lead to bigger health issues down the road.
